Chapter was unrecognizable when we found him in a muddy ditch next to Deus. He furless and lifeless body was crawling with maggots, but yet he still was breathing when we took a closer look. Lifting him gently in a sarong we brought him to the sanctuary. We wanted to see that his last breaths were peaceful ones and knew that in his devastating state, that he would be but a small “chapter” in our lives. That was in 2010! Chapter made a miraculous recovery and now boasts a beautiful Kitamani coat. He lives peacefully at our sanctuary where he loves to curl up and observe the other pack members. He is the gentle poet among the group and his favorite thing is to have his ears scratched.
